Restoration help in Forest Grove
Forest Grove is the west valley's older small city, home to the university and a downtown core that predates most of the metro's suburbs. The housing runs from nineteenth-century houses through post-war and the newer subdivisions that have grown the city into the metro's edge.
The buildings
The core is genuinely old for this part of the state: basement Victorian and early-century homes mixed with midcentury and newer. The growth areas are standard newer subdivision. Both ends of that range see water.
The water
Valley-floor groundwater in the flat parts of town, basement seepage and lateral backups in the old houses, and the ordinary failure list in the newer builds. Forest Grove sits near the Coast Range's foot, and the rain that wrings out over those hills lands here.
The callback
Old core or newer subdivision, basement or crawlspace: the standard questions shape the scope. A 1905 basement with stone foundations and a 2005 slab are both routine calls to the crew covering the west valley.
Coverage
The downtown core and university blocks, the neighborhoods spreading north and south, and the newer growth at the edges.
